Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great construction! I bought this several weeks ago. My chickens took to it immediately and lay their eggs in the nesting boxes! Very happy with purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from only for small breed hens I've had 2 of these in my coop for several yrs. My hens (Easter eggers, Sexlinks, Light Brahma, Wyndottes do not like it. They've laid in them a few times but 98% of the time, they make their own little nest and lay in the open area on the floor of the coop. I've had the boxes on the floor and screwed to the wall. I think the problem is the boxes are too small for my hens. Would probably be fine for bantams or small breeds like Silkies. I plan to tear the boxes out soon.

How do I use these nest boxes with 100 hens? And how many will I need?

Asked by: Mr Hickory
You would only need about 25 nest boxes for their 100 hens placed in a comfortable area. The hens will take turns and lay at different times throughout the day. So there’s no need for each one to have her own nest box.

I have the small doors in the back where I can reach for the eggs. Does this have a hole in the back?

Asked by: Cathy06
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the back is open so you can access the eggs.

Can I use this for my mini rex rabbit??

Depending upon the size of your rabbit there should be no issue if bedding is used.
