Our dog came to us on a grain-free beef kibble, and with the recent DCM research, we switched him to a salmon formula marketed to address any issues with a sensitive skin and stomach, which he did well on until the company switched the formula in late 2020. Then after belching, loose and unformed stools, dandruff, shedding, and dull fur (despite a fish oil capsule twice per day with meals), we transitioned him over to this performance kibble. The skin, fur, and GI issues have resolved or are almost fully resolved, and this is only about two weeks after the transition, now fully on this kibble for the last 1.5 days. I did notice only meat meals and blood meal in the ingredients list, as opposed to actual pure muscle animal meat/protein—which I do question to a point (but other dog foods use these ingredients as well). Apparently, there was an ingredient reformulation around 2019, per other internet sources, with some controversy regarding the blood meal addition. On a positive note, I do like seeing the added glucosamine and chondroitin in the formula as well. We do also add water and a little canned food in gravy with a fish oil capsule in with the dry kibble. Sometimes we will add a boiled egg or sardines for “fresher” protein as well. So for now, he seems to do well on this kibble and gobbles it right up. Hopefully, he will continue to like it, and hopefully, this formula will not change anytime soon.

Have had my dogs on Victor for a long time we previously used the Hi Pro Plus switched to this because of the added glucosamine for joints. We switched slowly with a 50/50 mix unfortunately when we got our dogs onto this they had explosive diarrhea asked Victor with concerns and spoke to several other owners who said the added blood meal had this effect on their dogs too.
