Item Information

The Victor Electronic Rat Trap is an innovative solution in rodent control. It works by delivering a humane, high-voltage shock to effectively kill the invading rat, while the 3-plate design prevents escapes. This powerful device is capable of killing up to 50 rats per set of fully charged batteries (4 "C"), making it a great value when you're dealing with a sizable infestation. It's also easy to use! Get started by simply applying a small amount of high-protein bait, such as peanut butter or hazelnut spread, on the back wall of the trap, place the trap in a location with rodent activity and turn it on.

The trap is equipped with advanced smart circuit technology, which senses when a rat enters the tunnel, triggering the system to deliver a humane, high-voltage shock once the rat steps on an electrified plate. Since rats have the ability to restart their hearts after an electrical shock, this trap applies shock for 2 minutes to ensure higher kill rates. After making a catch, a green LED light blinks to indicate a kill. A red blinking light lets you know when it's time to change the batteries.

For your convenience, the trap's design allows you to easily dispose of the dead rodent without having to touch it. Simply tip the trap of a trashcan to discard the rat. Plus, the large chamber makes it easy to clean in between uses. These traps require no poison or chemicals and can be used anywhere inside your home or business to ensure years of effective rat control.

  • Humane, high-voltage shock effectively kills rodents
  • Easy to use - insert batteries, add bait, turn it on and place the trap
  • LED light notifies you of a kill or low battery
  • Never touch a dead rodent - simply tip into the trash!
  • Kills up to 50 rats per set of 4 "C" batteries (not included)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kills rats Just got rat #6 in the barn this morning and decided it was time to review this trap. I've had it maybe 2-3 months. Got 4 rats in the first few weeks, then didn't get one for a while after that. So 2 days ago I moved it to a new location and have gotten 2 more rats since moving it. Paying this much for a rat trap was a gamble, but I haven't been disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great bought one a month ago to try and solve the problem with rodents eating wires under the hood of my car. after trying EVERYTHING and spending a lot of money this has been the most effective . killed 2 big ones in short order and have had no more destruction. so glad i tried this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works Great It was bought a month ago after a flood caused rats to invade the house. Killed about 10 rats and mice so far! Unfortunately, though the batteries were new, and never used, and don't expire until 2021, it's already indicating it needs a battery change. I know it said UP TO 50, which allows a lot of room for other results, but that is a Huge discrepency.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Maybe a Defective one ? Well I got this for the simple and ease of use, the first night it got 2 mice within a few hours, and maybe no more mice in the house that night, the second night I moved it to the enclosed back porch, it got 3 more mice, great job, but then after the second night it has quit working, I will set it and come check on it, and the flashing green light is blinking like there is a mouse in there and pick it up and nothing, time after time I saw this and all the peanut butter would be gone, I also covered the holes in the back like others had suggested, but quit working after 2 nights and 5 mice, I would not recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost as good as a cat I saw a mouse in the kitchen, and it was a fairly large one, so I bought this larger electronic trap. I had used the smaller electronic traps in the past, and I had liked them. They work well. So I got this trap, put in the batteries, smeared the peanut butter in the back, and set it by the refrigerator. As I flipped the ON switch and watched the LED blink, I was completely satisfied, and I thought to myself that even though the price was steep, it was better than having a mouse run around. As soon as I finished setting up the trap, I looked out the back window of my kitchen in to my garden. I saw a local stray cat eating the mouse. True story. I thought that was funny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works I bought this yesterday because we tried the live trap and the regular rat traps but all the rats did was still the bait and the traps never went off but within hours of using this we got one. Hated the price but worth it in the end, plus used the good batteries too, don’t buy the cheap ones. I hate killing anything, but they left me no choice, since they started chewing wires on my husbands zero turn mower in our storage building.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Electric rat trap I bought this electronic rat trap back when it was flooding real bad in austin. We where infested with large rats. Like the other reviews on here, I was not liking the price on this trap. Didn't want to buy the poison to kill them. Let's face it the dead rat in your house would stink so bad. So the poison was not an option. We could here them in the attic fighting and running around at night. It literally sounded like a hamster cage in the attic. I have dogs that was going crazy wanting to get them. I was using a BB gun pistol. I got 2 and my dog got one. I then realized there where way to many for me to get on my own. So I bought the rat trap them I got 20 more. Yes 20. I could not beleive it my self. Their was no way I could have got all of these rats my self. Can you emagin tring to that many with the snap traps. Their would be no way. They would have baby's while you still on 7 or 8. Some nights I was getting 4 and 5. It took me about a weak but we where rat free. I would pay way more for this trap knowing what it is capable of doing. Clean and safe. No touch rat. You can use anything you want in the trap. I've used grass seed. You have to see what they are getting into (food source) and use that. Know it's probably about a year and a half later and thanks to hurricane Harvey wee have rats again. It is still working like a charm. Three rats. Maybe more not sure. Still working on catching them. It maybe nasty but I don't clean the trap. Not at all. Leave it in your garage and you won't have anything to worry about germs. You want it to smell like nature so they won't scare off. I would give this trap 1000 stars if I could....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow. This thing works great! I read the reviews, like you are, and I wasn't sure. But I took a chance and got one of these. I took one reviewers advice a put about a half inch piece of Slim Jim in it and set it on my porch where I had seen some large field mice running. I am now up to three dead in two days. When I went to empty it today there were two in it. Still not sure how that happened, but I am thrilled to get the mouse population down. I am very happy with this unit. I bought one of the smaller 'mouse' sized ones as well, but frankly the mice here are too big to squeezed into it, so the rat sized is working the best.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Cheaply built, very small, no place for bait-they want you to try and smear peanut butter from the back of the outside onto the inside through a small hole. So far the Trap is caught nothing but ants and a spider...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a single kill. No real stranger to having rats in my barn's grain room. Thought it about time to take another approach, so I bought the Victor electronic rat trap. The unit ran through a fresh set of batteries in 24 hours. Seeing as I bought several packs of batteries when I bought the trap, I kept swapping out with fresh so I could see if the darn thing would work. Never made a single kill. Waste of my time and money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My rat must not like it! I bought this about a month ago and have had it all over my house. I have NOT caught a rat or mouse yet! I know the rat I'm trying to catch is very smart as I have tried all kinds of traps with no luck. I have seen it frolicking through my house as if taunting me. I don't know what to do now.
Date published: 2017-03-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works every time! It's like the "Energizer Bunny"! We have had it for about 8 months and are still on the first set of batteries. We have eliminated many mice, and just when I thought it needed new batteries, we caught an enormous rat that barely fit inside. I clean it with q-tips and alcohol between catches. This is the best mouse/rat trap I have ever seen. It is also humane compared to spring traps and glue traps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy Each time I've turned this trap on a rat has been caught. It is much easier than the old types.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best trap ever! Bought this a few days ago after trying snap traps. Hated the price tag but it is worth every penny! We don't like killing them ourselves and the snap traps would injure rather than kill. Can't use poison because of pets. This trap has killed 7 rats in only a few days and cleanup is easy. Love this trap!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works!!!! I was skeptical it would work, but it is the greatest invention! I had a mouse problem due to neighborhood foreclosures. This literally caught five mice in two days!! I found threading a zip tie through a piece of Slim Jim salami and tying it to the back of the trap worked way better than peanut butter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good as advertised Bought it Saturday and caught rat Saturday nite. I did put it outside, but along house under eaves. The spot was a little elevated so it wouldn't sit in rainwater. I had a little trouble fitting the batteries in. It could be the wire coils were a little too long and took up too much space. I'd recommend it to anyone with a rat problem-especially someone with kids

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply THE best!! We had a wood rat find its way into our home. He ate almost every house plant I had. We put out numerous traps, glue boards and live traps and nothing. It would shake off the glue boards and regular traps(even the extra large) and never even touched the live trap. After many weeks of extreme frustration and trying everything we knew I searched on tractor supply for any kind of idea. Saw this trap and the amount $$ but at this point we didn't really have anything to lose. We bought this trap at our local tractor supply on Saturday afternoon, we baited it and set it out, very easy to do. We used sunflower seeds and peanut butter. The rat only got the few sunflower seeds we placed outside this trap to lure him in. So on Sunday night we placed more sunflower seeds out but we put them all in the trap. I am ecstatic to report that he is no longer a threat to my home!!!! Best money we ever spent!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent trap I bought this trap about a week ago and so far I've got 6 kills with it. I have dogs so the poison wasn't even an option decided to go with this trap and I'm completely satisfied with it definitely worth the money. I set up a camera to see how many rats there were and the only thing I'm disappointed in was while I was watching the video I saw I had a kill already but then I watched another rat pull the dead rat out of the trap by its tail and went to get the rest of the food so I wish the trap automatically reset itself once it doesn't detect the connection anymore I could have had a 2 for 1 combo last night.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does NOT work for a lifetime! I bought one of these very expensive traps about a year ago. It has worked great until this week. So many rodents killed that the inside of the trap is saturated with urine and it has quit working.(I think the rodents lose control of all bodily function when being electrocuted) When I bait the trap, it resets like it always did, but bait is gone with no dead rodent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this!!! I bought this trap last week and I am so glad I did. I was not excited to pay $50 for a rat trap but when I caught the first on and all I had to do was turn up the trap and throw him in the trash...it was well worth the money! I have caught two in less than a week. Also, I put a FUN Size Hershey bar in the back of mine on the floor....works like a charm!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior to all other non poison traps I have two of them , the mice tcheck in regularly and don't check out. Excellent for a household with pets where you do not want to use poisons

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be any easier. After trying to catch a rat in my back yard for weeks with everything from traps to the DIY bucket filled with water, I considered buying a catch and release trap and a pellet gun. I will not use poison for reasons too many to list. Then I read the reviews for the Electronic trap. It's a bit expensive, I thought. But wait a minute, I'm considering buying a pellet gun. Duh. Bought the Victor yesterday. So easy to set. The hardest thing was putting in the batteries. Says indoor only, but I used in on my covered patio last night. Woke up and the green light was flashing. Bingo. Got him. Just dumped the little critter in the garbage. Didn't even mess up my bait. Will turn it on again tonight.

I found a dead rat in the trap and the metal plates were dirty (rat fir and I'm not sure what else). I dumped the rat out and was able to get some of the debris off, but not all of it. How clean do the metal plates have to be to kill the next rat?

Asked by: Drydock
Use a hydrogen peroxide topical solution (available at most drug stores) and an old toothbrush to clean the inside of the chamber. If needed, use a wire brush to remove any corrosion, being careful not to be too vigorous. This could accidentally remove all of the protective zinc plating.
