- A: Depending on use it is more suggested to top charge than not. Top charging batteries can increase lifespan but if being used in an alarm or emergency light there are built in charging devices in those units.2 years agoHelpful?

For disposal of small quantities of batteries, see if your local hardware/auto parts store or battery retailer will accept them for recycling.
