The UltraCruz Equine Pure Psyllium Supplement for Horses is an equine supplement for horses that graze or eat from the ground. Equine pure psyllium is made from 100% natural pure psyllium seed husk in the form of a palatable powder to help support normal gut function in horses without the addition of extra fillers and flavoring. When a horse grazes on sandy ground, it may ingest the sand and dirt, which accumulates in the intestinal tract. Combined with water, psyllium husks form a gelatinous substance that flows through the horse's intestinal tract. This substance may naturally help support the removal of sand from the ventral colon and other parts of the intestinal tract and help in reducing the risk of sand colic. For best results, use UltraCruz Equine Pure Psyllium Supplement for horses as a monthly supplement to help sand removal and support normal digestive function in your horse.

Q: Can this product be used daily to help control Free Fecal Water Syndrome? When I use psyllium for monthly sand treatment his FFWS clears up, but then it comes right back when the week's treatment is complete.

Q: Ive seen mixed instructions on psyllium. I understand pellets are fed dry but higher risk of impaction. Vet advised powdered form mix it with water & grain as dry can cause choke. Vet also does flush with powdered psyllium & water & oil. What’s best way ?

  • A: Hello, When giving your horse this product you do so dry. This is because as it becomes a gel-like substance in the gut, it gathers the sand/dirt with it. If you give the product wet beforehand, it renders the product ineffective. Thank you, SCAH

Q: Hi..All the research I have seen says to soak psyllium (pellets and/or powder) until it becomes gel like and then add it to the food.  Why do you say to give it dry?  Especially the pellets…

Easy to use/ measure. Bag stays sealed, so product stays fresh. Horse likes it, mixes easily with other pellets. Good results

Sand help

Having a horse need treatment for sand in the gut, I have been through tracking with radiographs for 3 years. Once I went to using a grazing muzzle plus following my vet’s prescription for 4 scoops a day (not one) for 7 days on and 7 days off (not just one week per month), my horse has gone over 2 years without accumulating any sand.
