Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sandpurge Pellets I can't say how well these work; I've only been feeding them a short time. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because my miniature horse doesn't want to eat them. My other horse cleans them up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great and Necessary Product I use psyllium regularly since my horse is in a sandy environment. I do think it’s important to use even if your horse is not in sand because hay has dirt in it. Even pasture grass has sand and dirt particles. All of that accumulates in the horses intestines. Sandpurge does the job of getting it to pass through. My horse eats this product so it can do its job!!

The data says formulated "from" 100% psyllium husks. Does that mean it IS 100% psyllium husks plus flavor

Asked by: joyreaper
The active ingredient is psyllium seed husk (140,000 mg per 5.2 oz). The inactive ingredients are artificial and natural flavors, ammonium hydroxide, asorbic acid, Cane Molasses, Citric acid, Lignin sulfonate, lecithin, propionic, Acetic, Sorbic & Benzoic acids, Rosemary extract, Solicon dioxide, Tocopherols and Vegetable oil. For a 1,000 lb. adult horse administer 1 to 1.5 scoops daily for one full week (7 days) out of every month. Give less to ponies, yearlings, and foals; more to larger horses and draft breeds. Can be given during or after meal time with fresh water. Measuring scoop is included.
