Special Precautions

Your veterinarian will prescribe either U-100 or U-40 insulin for your pet. It is critical that you use the corresponding insulin syringe for proper dosing. While U-40 is often prescribed for cats and dogs, it's important to know there are two types of syringes used for insulin injections. U-40 insulin syringes will have a red cap and tend to be smaller in size. U-100 insulin syringes will have an orange cap and are a little larger in size. Keep out of reach of children. Directions

1. To expose plunger, remove large white cap.

2. To expose needle, pull small red cap STRAIGHT off, being careful not to bend needle.

3. To measure correct dosage, align top edge of plunger tip with your dosage with your dosage mark on the syringe scale.

4. Use a syringe ONCE only. To prevent mis-use after injection, dispose syringe in a sharps container. Please consult your authorities for the proper and environmentally safe disposal method.
