Q: I’ve had this tiller for around a year. Used it twice then it wouldn’t start. Replaced the fuel this spring and tried to start it again, nothing. Is this thing destined for the garbage?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello Jimmacdundee. There could be blockage in the fuel lines or float bowl of the carburetor from leftover fuel. If you’re familiar with how to clean a carburetor, we suggest using a carburetor cleaner. Otherwise, we recommend you take it to your nearest authorized service center for cleaning. Thank you for your question.

Q: The TB225 2-cycle cultivator I have has a rubber bubble cap to prime the carburetor. (Step 1, press 10x). The rubber bubble cap has cracked as I need to replace it. It's part of a screw on on top of the carb. It's not on any parts schematics.

Troy Builts are Wonderful machines

We bought a Horse around 40 years ago and used it every summer for a beautiful huge garden. I’ve loved using that tiller and had no problem using it. A few years ago we moved into my mom’s house in a pine forest and have been trying to get used to a whole new gardening style. My Horse stopped working, making everything much harder. We had a Koehler engine on the original but couldn’t get the needed parts to fix it, so we replaced the engine and just got it back this year, so we are finally able to tackle this new challenge. IN THE MEANWHILE, I was diagnosed with kidney cancer and have been dealing with the subsequent issues since then. I have missed gardening because of all these challenges. So THIS year I ordered the Troy Built garden cultivator so I can be deeply involved in our gardening adventure again, and I am SO happy to be able to handle this machine while I build up strength to handle my horse again. Troy Build machines last, are a wonderful tool and I would highly recommend these machines to anyone interested.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Purchased 2 years ago. After 1 tank of gas it stopped. Would not start. Brought it to an authorized service center and six months later got it back. Center said it was a carburetor issue. Ran it today, 2 tanks of gas and it will not start. I took it to the local dump and left it. I will never buy a Troy Bilt anything Went out and bought another brand, ran like a charm. One pull and it starts. 4 tanks of gas later the job is done. Good Bye Troy Bilt!!!

No, I do not recommend this product.
