A: There are many possible reasons why the trail camera does not read the SD card, most fall back to a faulty SD card. -Not Formatted Properly If your camera is taking pictures, but not transferring them to the SD card, this is a sign that the camera is reading that there is a card there, but can not place photos or videos onto the card. This is typically a sign of improper formatting. *Be sure to format the new or used SD card. Every time you change cards when checking trail cameras, make sure you format the card going in. This helps maintain the files that are written onto the card. -SD card may still be locked. Slide the small slide on the left of the SD card to the unlock position. -SD card type and low speed. Be sure the SD card is a SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card, and aim for a higher speed number which run 1-10. This is found on the SD card inside a circular border. 10 would be the fastest processing speed, or when multiple picture stills are being taken. 1 is the slowest speed and may not be sufficient for the model trail camera. A higher speed 5 and up is always better. -Dirt or debris inside the camera’s SD socket. This commonly happens when your camera is in areas, such as a worked farm field, where there is more dust in the air than usual. Simply take an aerosol dust cleaner and blow into the socket. You could also just use your mouth to blow, but be careful not to allow any moisture into the socket. As we know, moisture and electronics do not mix well. A simple burst of air should dislodge any dust that is preventing a connection. -Poor Connection When you look at the back side of an SD card, there are 9 contact pins that need to fit snug against the transmitting contacts within the socket of your camera’s housing. If this does not happen, the camera will not be able to read the card, and will provide errors such as card full. -If this does not solve the issue, it may be a faulty connection between the SD card and mounting socket. Replace SD card. Always buy two cards for every camera, and format both to the camera. One that is in the camera and the other you can use to switch it out. Buy quality brand name SD cards! Be sure to label the SD cards unique to each camera. *SD cards are tiny electronic devices with the same potential for failure, directly out of the package or after a period of use, as any other electronic device. The complexity of a SD card is such that while it may look perfect on the outside, it can potentially be damaged internally. It is always required to have your trail camera powered off when inserting or removing the SD card.

A: The SD Card can be cleared and formatted directly from the camera. Using the right arrow button on the camera to navigate to FORMAT SD Card. Select OK and then use the arrow to select yes when asked if you want to format the SD card. Follow the prompts from there and your card will be re-formatted and all images will be cleared from the SD card. Images can also be deleted while the SD card is inserted in your computer or image viewer. Please see your devices instructions on how to delete from those external devices.

A: *A trail camera that will not turn on is most often a problem with power supply, such as rechargeable batteries, dead batteries, a corrosive battery, or even dirt and grime on the contact ports. Other possibilities could be water damage, or faulty LCD screen. 1) Open the control cover door by unlatching side closure. 2) Locate battery unlock lever on the underside of the camera body, press toward the front of the camera body to release the battery tray. Battery tray should spring out when released. 3) Check the orientation of the batteries. Positive (+) should be in the direction as pointed in the battery tray, as well as the negative (-) in the opposite direction. Make sure the AA batteries are fully charged, or new batteries. Do NOT USE rechargeable batteries. 4) Reinsert battery tray into camera body pressing firmly until the lock lever clicks in place.
