I bought one of these a few years ago and was very disappointed in it due to it's low power. In TSC today, I noticed that this one looked a little bit different and took a chance on it. I was pleasantly surprised. This one has significantly more power than the old one, plus, it has two different flash modes that are selected by a switch under the screw on dome. One mode is a simulated rotating beacon, the other is a repeating multi-flash pattern. Either are far superior to the single flash mode of the old one. I have included a video of the unit in operation on my little loader/backhoe. I went for the repeating multi-flash pattern. If I were challenged to find something to complain about it would be that it is a little difficult to permanently mount the device to a piece of equipment (although it DOES have mounting holes) due to the fact that there is no good way to feed the wire down through the center of the unit, and, there is no good way to determine the polarity of the wires once you cut the cigarette lighter cord off for permanent wiring. I would recommend that you cut one wire first and check identify it's polarity from the plug. I didn't, but I got lucky and chose the right polarity the first time. I can't guarantee that reverse polarity wont damage the unit, and I wasn't willing to experiment for a review. Probably a good way to ensure you are getting the new model is to look on the package for the fact that is has 2 flash modes. The old one didn't have that.
