Good tongue box for storing 20 lb propane tanks.

I purchased this box as a way to store specific items on the tongue of my travel trailer. I was specifically looking for an interior height of 18 inches to accommodate 20 lb propane tanks. I measured the height of a propane tank in a tractor supply store and then measured the interior height of a floor example of the box in a store as well. The available height was perfect with about 0.25 -0.50 inches of clearance when the lid was shut.
I ordered a box and picked it up at a local store. When I got it, I noticed the areas where the latches are connected to the lid were slightly bent. In addition, the propane tanks I had on hand were ever-so-slightly a different height than the examples at the tractor supply store. Meaning, that additional clearance I had was now gone as my tanks were a hair taller. However, even though clearnace was now negligible, the tanks still fit.
To anyone looking for a hard metal box for storing their propane tanks on a trailer, this box fits the bill nicely, just make sure you double and triple check the actual height of your specific tanks.
Craftsmanship seems a bit poor for the $400 asking price, but considering how long I have looked for just the right-sized box for hauling 20 pound propane tanks, I am still pleased with the purchase.
Uploading pictures of the mild damage to latching mechanism and the zero-tolerance clearance of my tanks vs the available space for them.

Cheap trash toolbox

If I could give this negative stars I would. I picked it up and after getting it home to install it I couldn’t open it because the locking mechanism was so cheap it was jammed shut. I returned it the next day. Avoid this and spend the money elsewhere.
