Keep your horse comfortable with the Tough1 Waterproof Poly Horse Turnout Blanket. This heavyweight horse blanket is made of a 600 denier waterproof rip-stop poly outer shell with a 210 denier lining and 250 grams of poly fill. This horse turnout blanket features fleece wither protection, crossed surcingles with elastic ends, adjustable and replaceable leg straps with elastic ends, double buckle front, tail flap that reduces tail breakage, and shoulder gussets that allow freedom of movement. Protect your horse from wind and rain with this horse turnout blanket. The material of the horse turnout blanket is breathable, designed to allow moisture vapor to wick away from the horse, preventing sweating while retaining body heat and repelling outside coldness.

- A: Thank you for your question! We advise that you measure from the center of the chest, around the side and to the center of the tail for proper winter blanket measurement. Always round up and a seamstress tape works great!8 years agoHelpful?

I've used only Tough 1 medium weight blankets over the years. Even on my young horses they hold up to the inevitable chewing of their first time being blanketed. I've never had one soak through in a rainstorm. Each blanket lasts from 3-5 years. If they get little rips after the first year or two, i hand sew them back together and they still hold up to water. Even though you are supposed to wash them with a special soap, i don't. I throw them in my washing machine before i store them. I don't like these just because they are durable. I like them because of the fit. This is the only blanket that doesn't bind in the shoulders. It fits little Quarter Horses and Arabians perfectly as well as the taller stockier breeds. Love these blankets!

Worst blanket EVER! Physically hurt my mare!!

I bought this blanket last year.The straps broke, my mare got tangled up and got cut several times. I cross the belly straps and the leg straps. It lasted ONE WEEK before it shredded. I hate tough 1 and will never buy it again. When I emailed the maker, about the 'ripstop' material, they didnt do anything. It's a waste of money!!
