Q&As

1 - 8 of 8 Questions

Q: how long, vertically, is a 63 in and a 60 in blanket

1 Answer
  • A: The exact vertical drop measurement is not a standard published specification for the Tough1 420D Water-Resistant Horse Sheet (34-1025-10-60). The 60-inch measurement refers to the length along the horse's body.

Q: Is this sheet waterproof

1 Answer
  • A: The Tough1 420D Water-Resistant Horse Sheet is not completely waterproof, but it is designed to be highly resistant to water. It is generally suitable for sudden rain showers or light drizzle but is not intended for heavy, prolonged rain or full turnout in wet conditions.

Q: May it is just me. I am assuming that size is based pn length from whethers to Bum (tail). Is that how we know what size to get ?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. Here is the sizing information provided by the manufacturer: Before ordering a blanket or sheet for your horse you will need to measure their size. Using a cloth measuring tape measure your horse from the center of their chest along their side to the center of their tail. If this measurement falls between sizes, always round up to the closest available size as our front buckle closures will allow for minor fit adjustments once on your horse. Tips and Tricks Introduce the measuring tape to your horse first, and move slowly. You don't want to risk spooking your horse! This process is easier with a friend, find a barn buddy to help you hold one end of the measuring tape. Dont have a cloth measuring tape? Use a non-stretchable piece of rope or twine to measure your horse. You can then measure that piece with a ruler or measuring tape. Q: Will Tractor Supply be getting in any more orange sheets, particularly sizes 63 & 66?

  • A: I bought these tough 1 sheets and they were not breathable.  I live in the south and my horses were sweating with them on which led to them being wet.  I wouldn’t recommend them at all.

Q: when choosing a size where do you measure

1 Answer
  • A: Thank you! Measure from the center of the chest, around the side and to the center of the tail. (For Example: If the horse measures 71", round up to the next size)

Q: Will it hold up on horses that like to roll?

1 Answer
  • A: It likely will not. The "420" in the 420D title represents thread count. The manufacturer suggests, for horses that like to roll, using either a 600 or a 1200.

Windbreaker not rain sheet

Purchased for one specific weekend where the horses were in outside stalls and it was forecast raining and turning into snow. They wore the blankets 5 hours before I went back to check on them because the temperature was dropping and precipitation turned into sleet. All three of them with brand new rain sheet were shivering and soaked underneath them. Had to put their heavy weight blankets on with them being wet in it.

The perfect fall blanket

Perfect for my Foal, easy to put on, fit perfectly and is just the right thickness for the colder evenings. I got this for my 6 month baby, the buckles are very easy to clasp and stayed clasped it also adjusted easily and stayed though out the night… didn’t unbuckle when laying down. The front buckles are smooth I could do them with one hand and lay flat as I was concerned of her hooking on hay net. I am very pleased.
