Q: If I plant them in a pot, how much sun does it need
a month ago1 Answer
- A: Hi Neighbor- Step-by-Step Growing Guide Prep the Vase: Fill the provided glass vase with clean water. The water level should sit just about \(5\text{ mm}\) below the bottom of the bulb.Pro-Tip: Add a small piece of activated charcoal to the water to prevent it from getting cloudy and stop algae from growing. Position the Bulb: Rest your hyacinth bulb in the neck of the glass with the pointy end facing up. Never force the bulb down into the water; if it sits directly in the water, it will easily rot. The Chilling Period: Place the entire glass setup in a cool, dark, and well-ventilated space, such as a basement, cellar, or refrigerator crisper drawer.Warning: Keep the bulb far away from bowls of fruit (especially apples and bananas), as the ethylene gas they emit will ruin the bulb's growth. Maintenance: Check the water level weekly and top it off to maintain that \(5\text{ mm}\) gap below the bulb. Introduce to Light: Leave the bulb in the dark for about 8 to 10 weeks. Once you see strong root development and a green shoot that is roughly \(3-4\text{ inches}\) (\(7-10\text{ cm}\)) tall, it is ready to come out into the light. Blooming and Care: Move the vase to a brightly lit room with diffused, indirect sunlight. Direct, harsh sunlight will cause the flowers to fade prematurely. Prevent Leaning: Because plants naturally lean toward the light source, make sure to rotate your vase by a quarter turn every few days so your stem grows straight and strong.a month agoHelpful?
Q: Can these be grown outside in a pot?
7 months ago1 Answer
- A: Hi Neighbor! Yes, this could potentially be grown in a pot outside after it has bloomed indoors, but it should be planted in soil first and moved to a suitable outdoor location after the last frost. It's important to transition the bulb into a pot with soil, not just keep it in the glass, so it can establish roots for future growth.7 months agoHelpful?

Total disappointment. None of them bloomed. Tractor Supply should not carry them. Waste of money that none of us can waste

Blighted bulbs

Wonderful idea & cute indoor presentation, but bulbs are infected with some kind of blight, resulting in failure. So sad because this could really be a great way to go for indoor happiness. 😊.
