I bought this to use for work. I chose this one because it has a clip, its small, rechargeable, and thought it would be bright enough for the purpose intended. I took it out of the package, did not light. I plugged in the charger, the indicator light was green. I tried to power on again, not light. I put it back on the charger for an hour for the drive home, still no light. I am over 40 miles from the store so returning it is not convenient. I would recommend making sure the light works before you leave the store.
No, I do not recommend this product.

We are sorry to hear about your issue. Each surge light has a plastic tab that is installed to protect the battery and must be removed prior to first use. You can unscrew the taillight and remove this part and it should work fine. Please note all of these lights are individually tested to ensure they work properly prior to being packaged. I purchased this for emergency use. No problems with it at all. After 2hrs constant use it started to turn off randomly, but after recharging it for 30 minutes it was fine. Very reliable.

Good and bright. Seems durable. I actually give it 4.5 stars. Having a beam that is focusable between flood and spot would make this a solid 5 stars. However, its hard to beat for it's price point.
