I have been using it for about a week and it is leaking oil into my Kio pond. I the description and the literature provided with the pump it specifically says for use in a pond. Or not really if it leaks its oil into your pond.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This pump is built solidly and is very quiet while running. I am using it with a 12V converter to pull water from my pond to irrigate some small orchards, and I appreciate the high GPM rating. Seems like a very solid product!

Just put the unit into service as a stationary circulating pump. I immersed the pump in a couple of feet of water without hooking up any discharge fittings just to see what is is capable of and it was a good thing I stood back. The pump blasted water almost out of the tank so the question of volume and efficiency was settled. I had run this test with another concern in mind; that being the possibility of oil leaking out from the motor. After the fountain run, I shut down the pump and saw no evidence of oil at all. So far, five stars!
