Q&As

1 - 6 of 6 Questions

Q: Is this suitable for use to supply a garden hose for 8 hours, with the outflow partially restricted at times?

1 Answer
  • A: 8-Hour Run Time: This pump is designed for manual, temporary water removal. While submersible pumps are often capable of long run times if fully submerged (as the water cools the motor), 8 hours of continuous operation without a break is on the high end for a light-duty, thermoplastic, 1/6 HP motor. It may work if the pump remains fully submerged, but frequent 8-hour runs could significantly reduce its lifespan. Restricted Outflow: This is not recommended. Submersible pumps need consistent water flow to cool the motor. Restricting the outflow (such as using a spray nozzle or a kink in the hose) for extended periods can cause the pump to overheat, damaging internal thermoplastic parts, leading to thermal trips, or burning out the motor. Garden Hose Use: The pump includes a garden hose adapter (3/4 in.), making it suitable for standard hose connections, though this will naturally restrict the maximum flow rate

Q: How do you clear all water out of the pump when not in use?

1 Answer
  • A: To clear water from a thermoplastic submersible utility pump, disconnect the pump from the power supply and then disconnect the discharge hose. Next, remove any debris from the intake screen and impeller. Finally, flush the pump with clean water and allow it to dry before storage.

Water continuously blows out of a side hole? Why? Is this a failure? Is this a sign that it can’t reach the head requirement?

Questionable design

Junk! There were No instructions on how to install. All it gave In the "instruction booklet" was safety instructions, general safety and warnings. It does not say anything about why water sprays out through a tube on the side the whole time. This seems self defeating.

No, I do not recommend this product.
