Q: I want to purchase BUT the longer wind-up handle shown in 2 of the pictures, which is what I want, conflicts with a 3rd picture showing a short "cabinet like" nub, which I don't want. Can you confirm the handle will be the longer one please?

Q: I bought this and it was installed correctly. The hub and the o rings do not form a secure connection. Water gushed out. I have contacted Suncast and received an email stating that it must be a hose connection issue. It is not. I will be returning it.

Q: I bought two of these and they both leak at the hub since day one. I've used the included silicone grease yearly so that isn't the cause. Is there an upgrade o-ring kit or some manner of repair available?

- A: We remembered that we had a problem too, so we just took it apart to look. The incoming hose is so kinked that it interrupts flow. We wrapped major thickness of duct tape around hose coming into hub to open flow and stop the kink. It may be that the hose cracked where it kinked. Or, it may be that the hub is not fully locked onto the inner unit. Make sure the 4 black tabs behind hub cover are fully exposed and locked. Hope this helps. We have liked the unit after fixing hose. Definitely a design flaw.5 years agoHelpful?

Verify winding direction.

The direction it winds on the reel isn't reversible. Also the way the leader hose connects to the rear, center of the unit gets kinked. Our 100 foot hose is too large for this reel.

Works well, but...

Overall this is a nice hose reel. I like the ability to just flip a lock/switch and remove the whole reel quickly in the winter. My one complaint is the 4' connector hose is the weak link in the chain. I had returned one previously that I purchased from another store because it leaked after about 3 weeks. When I got this one, it leaked right out of the box. One end of the connector hose wouldn't seal. I finally purchased some decent washing machine hoses and it works just fine.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Easy to use, easy to install....a lot

Convenient and easy to install and use. The ease of installation is particularly important as we find we need to replace it annually. It gets daily use as the primary hose reel in our small horse barn but the plastic construction means something usually breaks somewhere along the way. At this low price point, it's easy enough to replace it...though I wish I didn't have to.
