The summit viper steel is a beast! I’ve owned 2 of them. They have an excellent life span and are as solid as a tank. While they may be slightly heavier than the aluminum it fits my price point for safety, reliability, and usability. Only summit stands for me, period.

The stand is overall great for the price. It is heavier than it’s aluminum framed brother but that’s why the price is low. The only complaint that I have is the carrying straps. The straps are thin and dig into your shoulders, but they may not be so bad when rifle season opens and I’m wearing a heavy coat. Either way, I’m gonna upgrade to wider and padded straps.
