Great stand but it's just sooooo heavy and carries large. Sorry I know on paper its not to heavy however it feels like torture carrying this thing after a few minutes of hiking.

Happy with this climber with a few improvements

I bought a viper climber 15 years ago and have been using it ever since. Didn't like the stirrups because they wore holes in my expensive muck boots and now they leak so I threw the stirrups away and replaced them with a 2" wide strap. The 3/4" wide strap that held the shoulder straps on let go so I replaced that with a 2" wide strap and buckle. I don't know how long the cables will last but the coating wears off after a couple years and a lot of use so after about 5 or 6 years I replace them as a safety issue. I am on my 3rd set of cables. I use my climber all through archery, rifle, and muzzle loader seasons and the seat is so comfortable that if I can stay warm I can stay 20' up in a tree all day. If I stand I can see all the way around but when I get tired, I need to sit awhile and can't quite see behind me . Still, getting that high up dissipates my scent better than staying on the ground. I'm 72 years old and have harvested numerous trophies from this climber, mostly in archery season. Couldn't have gotten close enough without a comfortable climber.
