Developed by a renowned Ph.D. Equine Nutritionist, Standlee Forage Plus Gastric Support is an alfalfa-based forage designed to assist in the restoration of damaged digestive tissue and the promotion of hind gut health. This highly palatable forage option is carefully crafted with low levels of sugar and starch without any added grain. The addition of marine-derived calcium, ButiPearl Z EQ, and a proprietary pre and pro-biotic (GI Pro3) is the ideal recommendation for horses dealing with digestive sensitivities or heightened stress, such as trailering and competition to help address digestive issues and upsets effectively. Forage Plus Gastric Support pellets stand apart from Standlee's forage-dense pellets by offering a smaller, more tender alternative. You may find a loose substance at the bottom when you receive your bags, indicating the soft texture. Due to the nutrient-rich ingredients, do not discard these ground pellets. These pellets can be easily soaked to soup-like consistency when mixed with other pellets for your horses' enjoyment.
- Buffers Stomach Acid - added Marine-Derived Calcium assists in maintaining a stomach acid balance potentially lowering gastric ulcer risk
- Supports Digestive Tissue Health - added Butipearl Z EQ supports the recovery of damaged digestive tissue caused by stress
- Promotes a Balanced Gut Microbiome - added pre and probiotic promotes microbiome balance, enhancing immune function and aiding in optimal digestion
- Alfalfa-Based - No added grain and molasses
- Available in a 40 lb. bag
- Made in USA

Forage is the most important component of a horse's diet and should be fed at a rate of 1.5-2.5% of a horse's body weight. Introduce Standlee Forage Plus Gastric Support gradually into your horse's diet over seven to fourteen (7-14) days, supplementing the forage and/or pasture with Gastric Support fed at a rate of .05 to 1% lb of body weight per day. (i.e., 6-12lbs /1200lb horse/day) NEVER FEED MOLDY OR INSECT INFESTED FORAGE. ALWAYS PROVIDE FREE-ACCESS TO FRESH, CLEAN WATER To reduce the risk of rapid consumption that can lead to digestive upset and choke, pellets are recommended to be soaked (2 parts water to 1 part pellet) for a minimum of 30 minutes or until the forage is softened to a soup-like consistency. Weigh the amount of forage provided to each horse before soaking. Q: Is this product good for horses that may have ulcers?
a year ago- A: Forage Plus Gastric Support is ideal for horses dealing with digestive sensitivities or heightened stress, such as trailering and competition to help address digestive issues and upsets effectively. These issues often tend to stem from imbalances in the gut microbiome, stomach, and overall digestive system. This alfalfa-based product specifically aids in the restoration of damaged digestive tissue, enhances immunity, and promotes hind gut health. Given that a horse’s digestive process begins in the mouth and progresses through the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and large intestine, any disruptions in these digestive structures can potentially compromise the entire digestive system. Such issues may consist of dental issues, difficulty chewing food, swallowing, choking, gastric ulcers, and compromised digestion within the horse stomach. Therefore, horses facing these challenges can benefit from Gastric Support.a year agoHelpful?
