This is a handy knife to have while working in my Chicken yard.

This is the best baton knife I've ever owned. It is a beater knife that cannot be destroyed. You can baton the knife all day long, cutting up 3.5" logs and branches without dulling the blade edge. I've used my homemade ten-pound-plus wooden club on the spine of the knife without any damage to the spine, to the metal handle, or to the blade edge. I can pry open anything up to about 40-50 pounds of force without bending the prybar or the knife. Because 420 steel does a terrific job in absorbing and transferring blunt shock elsewhere, in this case, mainly to the knife handle. I'm sorry to say, but the handle will absorb all shock. This will result in cracking and breaking off the plastic-side scales of the knife. This aesthetic engineering flaw does not, in any way, hinder the performance of the knife, which is to cut and pry. It is best to wrap the metal knife handle with bicycle handlebar cork, which will absorb all shock, saving your hands. The ripper hook will cut up heavy-duty cotton duck canvas (Grade #1) without any difficulties. The ripper will also rip through 1mm thick (1/32") standard metal wire. I love this knife so much, I've bought four of them. Would I trust my life with this survivalist knife? Yes, I would. So far, I cannot find anything this knife can't do.

Unusual? You bet. Practical? It is. I sharpened mine until it cut paper. This could be just the tool you need for all your outings. Very useful gadget.
