Special Precautions

During the metabolic acidosis correction process, an unintended plasma sodium concentration increase could occur. This may occur due to the fact that sodium bicarbonate solutions are hypertonic.

Immediately contact your closest emergency animal hospital or vet.

Side Effects

Sodium Bicarbonate should not be administered to animals receiving diuretics that produce a hypochloremic alkalosis or in animals who are vomiting and losing chloride.

Store between 15°-30°C (59°-86°F).

Bicarbonate therapy should be carefully planned and administered in intervals because the responsiveness for a given dose may be unpredictable.
