Q: I never read the wind speed these garage in a box items can with stand. We are buying the 12x20 peak style. We live in the desert which occasionally gets high winds up to 60mph. If we use permanent anchors will it be enough? Also how heavy is it?

Buyer Be Aware

Its a nice unit and has plenty of room for your needs. But be a be aware it will take some time to assemble and you will need help, otherwise if you go by the instruction and some common sense, it will be a sturdy structure.
Now the terrible side...
If it sits in any part of the sun, the covering you get will deteriorate before the one years warranty, make sure you inspect before the warrant runs out. Yes, they will send you another one, but make sure you get a bit thicker upgrade.
They claim it has UV protection, but if it fails before 1 year, its cant be to great. Soon as the weather is good enough I will replace with the next better upgrade, but not looking forward doing it. Going too look for something I can spray on it, for better UV protection.

I purchased this garage in a box 3 years ago for boat storage, it has been a good shelter for the boat, unfortunately the wind took the top off the thing and I can't find replacement canopy good shelter poor replacement parts availability

Surprisingly easy replacement!

We bought our house that had a shelter logic tent already on the property; however, it was extremely old. The bones of the tent were still in great shape, so we bought a replacement cover kit. The kit came with easy to follow instructions and just enough extras to get the replacement on. The replacement quickly went on and the green color looks pretty nice and blends into the space well. Definitely worth getting the replacement on.

This is a replacement for a tarp that got shredded in hurricane force winds. For regular use, these are great structures. The inside head clearance is fantastic. And they use a cross bracing on the frame that most don't have. Company is great, they ship very quickly. They respond to queries within 24 hrs. You don't see that much anymore. At 500 cdn, it's a bit pricey, but what ian't these days? Better than dropping 1600 on a whole new structure. The shipper Loomis has been a nightmare, but that's not Shelter Logic's fault. Top rating from me
