I just purchase so haven't had the opportunity to see if the martins like it, however it appears to be very well made. I have had martins for several years and found that the only house that consistently works are the gourds. The large house type are a big negative to the martin population as they help the invasive species (house sparrow and starling).

The martins love the gourds!!!

I bought four gourds in early spring to try. The martins took right to them and raised their young in all four. The only drawback I see is the cap is on the back of the gourd and it is hard to view inside the gourd while it is on the rack to do nest checks. I did drill extra holes in the bottom for ventilation and drainage. I also added a 3/4" PVC street ell for a vent on the cap.
