- A: If you leave cedar wood untreated, it will not succumb to the devastating effects of mold, rot and insect damage. However, it will lose its typically golden-brown color.5 years agoHelpful?

Just love this little birdhouse. I bought this for a gift for my sister. It is made of cedar and has an easy clean out in the back. I did spray it with a clean coat of polyurethane. The color is pretty.
