Rated 5 out of 5 by from Attractive Birdhouses We purchase these Martin birdhouses for our farm every year. They are attractive and the birds love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from light weight, well built house I had my doubts when I first opened the shipping box, but after one of my teenager scouts assembled this willout any problems I was both surprised and happy that it seems very sturdy and light. He said it was easy. It attached easily to the Tri-Tel pole and I mounted two of the DO 11 plastic gourds beneath it. The pole is designed for multiple mounts and works very nicely. With the house and 2 of the gourds on the pole it can be easily raised and lowered by a single person. So unless the birds load it up with heavy material this should work very well. If the birds like it I will buy more to expand the nesting options next year. I also have a second pole with 6 of the gourds on it. Which ever the birds like best will be what I buy next.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Made of lightweight plastic Ordered online and had shipped to store. That went well. Opened the box to find an array of parts made of flimsy plastic. Not what I expected at all. Have another birdhouse made of aluminum and that has been high on top a pole for years. No problems. The base on this plastic Purple Martin house has a small thin mount hole and all the parts snap together on top of it. Not strong solid construction. Afraid a strong gust of wind will take this birdhouse to the Land of Oz or simple burst it into small pieces. Guess this is another example to find a way to make something cheaper. Won't last. I'm returning it to the store.

I am replacing an old house, will this attach to a 4x4 pole?

Asked by: SOASOAR
If you have a wood pole, use this adapter to adapt your wood pole (Fits a 4x4 Wood Pole). This adapter snaps into the center of our martin houses and the plate attaches to your wood pole.

I expanded the living areas by punching out the material and blocking half the entrance ways per the instructions. I blocked the entrance by taping the material I punched out to open the connecting rooms. Will this affect the ventilation or lack of light?

Asked by: Mr5836
By expanding this compartments, there is extra protection for the purple martin from predators. The martin does like extra protection and darker cavities lend themselves to an extra feeling of safety. The sunlight and ventilation are fine.

I bought this house and it looks like it can accept a hawk/owl cage. Was there supposed to be one included? I don’t see accessories anywhere online.

after the house is built how can anyone see to mount it over the tripole

Asked by: geor35
The door panels open up. Each snap attaches to the floor. The pole goes up to the second floor not through it.
