Varathane Wood Accelerators speed up the natural aging process of wood to transform bare and untreated woods with a vintage look. Accelerators react with wood tannins for a one-of-a-kind look that can be customized using wood type, application time and number of applications. For extra protection, finish surfaces with Varathane Polyurethanes. For use only on wood substrates. Not recommended for use on floors or outdoor surfaces.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Varathane Weathered Wood Finish is very easy to apply, it goes on thin, so no drippage. This finish also dries fairly fast which is also a plus (as long as you do not put on too thick of a coat at one time).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this may be a new product for Varathane. We are renovating an RV as well as our home and other projects around the house. This stain is a darker grey color that looks very similar to weathered beach wood. It took such a small amount to achieve the look we were going for. That’s as great because it saved us a lot of time going back over with another coat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to paint my daughter's playhouse and I love the results. It really does accelerate and gives it the weather wood look to it. I did two coats. It was so easy and got it done in no time. The "paint" is very thin and it applies easily. I would just make sure to have a good quality brush.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The VARA weather would accelerator in Gray, is perfect, especially for crafts. You will notice the first coat is very light but, after you add a couple of coats you can really see the gray starting to show. It weathers as if you can see it happening. Use it on bare wood. Clean up is super easy. I would definitely recommend this product.
