Bought this unit about four years ago and plastic pieces were starting to break, i.e., the white panel containing doors, all the antennas and perches, and some of the roof snaps popped out. While looking on Internet for parts, I noticed Tractor Supply had a life time limited warranty. BTW the replacement parts would cost the same as buying a new house! Calling the store, they said to bring in in for a look. Upon arrival they had a new one at the register waiting for me! No muss, no fuss! Highly recommend Tractor Supply and for the price the bird house is more than adequate.

I'm new to the purple martin hobby. I bought this house as a low cost entry to the hobby. The first two floors are easily accessible by the martin landlord. The attic floor is not. Just look at the picture of the house and you can tell. No attic access. So buy the half moon door blocks and block off the attic. You should remove divider barriers to form 6 units of 6x12. 12 units of 6x6 may sound better, but martins need more space between nest and door because of owls and their talons. Compartment dividers are a laminated cardboard. So I figure this house is good for 2 or 3 years. That's fine with me. I plan on a better house in the future. After blocking off the inaccessible attic and expanding the lower floors, I only have 6 6"x12" units left. So I bought a couple of high quality gourds to make up the difference. This is still a good house for the beginner. I wanted to spend a little to get started. If the martins show up and I establish a colony, then I'll spend more.
