- A: There is no specific time to replace. Typically when it is empty you would replace the sock or when the birds stop feeding on it. These socks are not meant to be refilled. If the seed gets moldy or something like that from getting wet then probably replacing sooner would be better.9 years agoHelpful?

Plastic container and shipping not good!

The internal product is good. Unfortunately, the plastic internal storage and external plastic to sell and ship this to us creates a bad smell to seeds whereas the wild birds simply dont like to eat it. I believe the plastic is "supposed" to be keeping it safe or fresh but it simply creates a terrible outcome for it. It's also a very bad thing to bring to the world (plastics) which never breakdown in the earth. Sad.
