Unhook: While pinching, slide the prongs out of the metal loops of the adjacent link to disconnect them. Resize: Remove as many links as needed until the collar fits snugly around your dog’s neck. Reconnect: Squeeze the prongs of the remaining end link and insert them back into the loops of the other end to close the loop While you can shorten a 3mm collar, note that this gauge is typically recommended for dogs over 45–50 lbs. Link failure on two separate occasions. The first time I thought maybe it was user error or a fluke. Since the first time it happened, I check each link before I put it on. On a walk I went to correct my dog, a link came undone, he got loose and went to chase after a cat while a snow plow was also going by. Luckily he came when I called him. This could have gone much much worse. I came to the reviews thikni just had a faulty collar, but there are multiple other reviews saying link failure.
No, I do not recommend this product.
