I've had this electric fireplace for 2 years now. It heats up my basement very well. I love the thermostat we set it at one temp and let it go. I haven't noticed much difference in my electric bill either which is nice.

Is a lot lighter in color versus the picture on the box and online, also compared to our small heaters with more BTUs this one does not get as warm. It's beautiful however and does work well!

Thermostat is horrible!

The thermostat is horrible on this! it won't maintain an even temperature! When you set the temperature, it takes 30 to 40 minutes for it to come on, then when it decides to shut off (whenever it feels like it), the temperature reading goes up on the unit (evidentially the thermocouple reads the temperature inside the units cabinet), the room temperature goes down, and it may or may not come back on. The temperature in the room fluctuates between 6 to 8 degrees when using this.
No, I do not recommend this product.
