Solid Welds. Great Design, Height is perfect for long burns. This is the only fireplace grate that will last all winter. The competitions centers burn out.

This started out great, giving us wonderful fires. Unfortunately, by the end of the first season the great was melting in the middle front and bowing down. This causes bad airflow, which doesn't work well for fires. I would look for something with thicker iron.

This is my second one and is a great value for the money, first one lasted 3 years which is great for a 3/4 inch construction, I used 2 to 3 cords of wood a year in winter months
