Q: If you use the emergency shut off how to do reset so receives fuel again

1 Answer
  • A: To reset your 10,000 BTU radiant kerosene heater after an emergency shutoff, you typically need to reset the internal safety switch/lever and may need to bleed air from the fuel line if the tank ran completely dry Reset Procedure Turn off the power: Switch the heater to the "OFF" position and unplug it from the power source (or remove the batteries if it is battery-operated for ignition). Wait: Give the unit 5-10 minutes for internal safety switches to cool down and reset automatically. Check the fuel supply: Ensure the fuel tank has sufficient K-2 grade kerosene and that the fuel line is securely connected and not clogged. Locate the manual shutoff/reset lever: This is often a small red lever or button located near the wick adjustment knob or the burner assembly. Reset the safety mechanism: For wick-type heaters, you often have to hold the wick adjustment knob firmly in place, push down the manual shutoff lever completely, then change the knob position slightly (or raise the wick to the "up" position), and release the shutoff lever while still holding the knob. This re-engages the mechanism that allows the wick to drop when the lever is pressed. For forced-air models, there may be a specific reset button (often red) on the control panel or burner assembly that you need to press and hold for 30 seconds. Address air in the fuel line (if the tank ran dry): If the heater ran out of fuel completely, air might be trapped in the line, preventing flow. You may need to bleed the system. This often involves: Locating the bleeder screw/port on the fuel pump. Placing a container underneath to catch the kerosene. Turning the bleeder port counterclockwise about a half turn. Pressing the reset button (if applicable to your model) to run the pump, letting it bleed until a steady stream of oil without air bubbles comes out. Tightening the port clockwise by hand to stop the flow. Restart the heater: Plug the heater back in, ensure any main power switches are on, and attempt to ignite it according to the standard operating instructions. Important Safety Note: Avoid pressing the red reset button too many times in quick succession (more than twice on some models), as this can cause the system to go into a hard lockout, requiring a longer wait period (e.g., 3 hours) or specific prolonged button press to clear. Always refer to your specific model's owner's manual for the exact procedure.

Review 1

A VERY good all around unit.

Awesome heater, Most importantly its a very fuel efficient, low odor heater in comparison to the tubular pancake based ones. After a few runs of the wick being new the heating element inside heats up more even/consistently and quicker. It gets better with temp control with the sweet spot being between high and low. Overall it's well constructed and the removable fuel cell is half the rating for obvious reasons being It's kerosene. I'd highly recommend to anyone. Well worth the price!

Yes, I recommend this product.
