Runs Great, but hard starting

This would be a 5-star review except that the starting mechanism doesn't work very well. Often take 4-8 times before the piezo actually starts the unit. Runs great once started.

    not typical DeWalt quality

given this is a DeWalt product, I assumed it would be of high quality like all the other DeWalt tools I own. The product does emit heat very well. however, it takes forever to start. it's only a couple weeks old and I have to press the ignition key over and over again. The smell of propane fills the room by the time this thing ignites, which is dangerous. this product was purchased to heat up the garage ahead of time so my son and his friends could work out.

When we first got everything hooked up, and turned on, it started smoking and melted the plastic handle on top.
