WHY READI SOIL BIOCHAR: THE PERMANENT SOIL UPGRADE Readi Soil Biochar is a premium, sustainably sourced carbon amendment that permanently transforms your farm and garden soil. Unlike traditional fertilizers that wash away in heavy rain, our 100% Organic Biochar stays in the ground for decades, acting as a microscopic sponge to protect your crops. DROUGHT DEFENSE: Dramatically increases your soil's ability to hold moisture at the root zon ecritical for protecting vegetable plots and raised beds during dry spells. PERMANENT AERATION: Breaks up dense, compacted clay and adds structure to sandy soils, allowing crop roots to drive deeper for nutrients. MAXIMIZE YIELD: The porous carbon acts like a "coral reef" for beneficial soil biology, capturing and holding nutrients so your heavy-feeding plants have food when they need it most. PRO TIP - SUPERCHARGE YOUR SOIL: For maximum harvest results, mix this Biochar with Readi Soil Organic Worm Castings. The Biochar provides the permanent "house," and the Worm Castings provide the biological "residents" to create a thriving, high-yield soil system!

Q: How do you charge this product

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Barbara! Soak it for at least 1-2 weeks in a nutrient-rich liquid like compost tea, diluted fish/seaweed fertilizer, ensuring the liquid covers the biochar, allowing its pores to absorb nutrients and beneficial microbes before mixing into your garden soil to prevent it from initially stealing nutrients.

Q: how much biochar do I need per 1000 square feet?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Neighbor! For 1000 sq ft, you'll generally need 10-20 lbs (weight) or 3-6 cubic feet (volume) for a new garden, mixing into the top few inches, with more for poor soils like sand/clay; for established lawns, 5-10 lbs is sufficient for maintenance, but remember to "charge" it with compost first for best results.

Mostly Water weight

At first I thought it was a good price per pound. Yes it is 22 pounds, but it is pretty wet, so a good portion of the weight is just water. Not only that, it is incredibly fine and powdery.

No, I do not recommend this product.
