Q: Will this deworm goats
a year ago- A: There is nothing in this Goat Block that would provide deworming ingredients to the goats.a year agoHelpful?
Q: Our layer chickens cohabit the barn with our goats. Any risk for the chickens or their eggs?
3 years ago- A: Hi! Per the vendor: We recommend doing your best to keep the chickens away from the block. The salt content of the block could be an issue for the birds. Too much salt and the birds will stop eating and then stop laying eggs within a few days. It is likely that the birds will pick at it and find it way too salty for them and avoid it, but there may be some issues. I would also be concerned with the amount of selenium in the block. The block contains more than 3x the amount of selenium that the birds should be getting. Selenium can be toxic. Too much of the block could be dangerous for the chickens. There are certainly risks for the birds if they are eating it. The eggs would be fine to eat even if the birds are eating some of the block.3 years agoHelpful?
Q: Our two goats stay in a pen and barn and eat hay. Is this block ok for them? Do we leave it in with them all the time? Can it be outside or does it need to be inside?
4 years ago- A: FEEDING DIRECTIONS: Feed limited amounts for the first few days and then offer free choice, scatter in pasture or field or place in bunks where goats are grazing. Supply at the rate of 1 block per 12-15 head of goats. Check supply often. Replenish when blocks are two-thirds gone. Be sure goats have roughage and water available at all times. LIMITATIONS FOR USE: Do not offer free-choice to starving goats. Do not feed to sheep. Consumption after the first few days should level off to 0.8 to 1.4 pounds per head per day to provide a maximum of 0.7 mg. selenium per day. If consumption is too high, move blocks further from bedding and watering areas.4 years agoHelpful?
