Q: How long should I wait before planting both plants and seeds in my garden after tilling the soil then applying preen and watering it in ?

1 Answer
  • A: Preen Garden Weed Preventer is meant to be applied to bare weed free soil and in gardens around the label listed flowers, plants, trees, shrubs and vegetables. This product is a weed prevener not a weed killer so any existing weeds would need to be removed prior to applhying. Watered in to activate, a gentle rain or 5-10 minute watering is sufficient. You can reapply every 9-12 weeks. Preen Garden Weed Preventer can be applied to gravel however we do advise that erratic weed growth can occur.

Preen kills myrtle

I applied Preen to a myrtle bed to hopefully prevent Japanese stilt grass from emerging. Killed my myrtle. I will have to have landscaper plant grass or cover with landscaping stones.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great product

When spring comes, I weed my garden with a weed pole, easy, pick up some big ones, plant my new annuals and apply preen. No weeds grow. After a few weeks I turn my soil a bit with my weed tool and apply again. I love it. I like a weed free garden bed.

Yes, I recommend this product.
