Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great! Just as it said it would. I have been using Preen and Green for years and it works wonderful! It works best in the flower garden if you put it on in the early spring around plants that are at least 3" tall. Lightly scratch it in the ground and water or put it on before a rain shower. It won't work as well if you put it on and then put mulch over the top. If your going to add mulch then put it on the top of the mulch layer and scratch it in and water. If you need to, say if you have a lot of rain, then reapply after about 2 months, again take it in lightly and water. I've also put it in my vegtable but not until the plants are up at least 3 inches. I think people who have had poor results probably haven't read the instructions, this is crucial!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prevented birdseed from germinating Our young granddaughter thought she was doing us and the birds a favor by scattering about a quart of birdseed on our back mulched backyard area. We spread Preen according to the directions and NONE of it grew! We have a large yard and routinely buy six or seven large containers every spring from Costco.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blueberry bushes ? Before I use this poduct around our 6 blueberry bushes, I want to be reassured it will be safe. They always give us plenty of fruit for the summer, I dread losing those fruit producing bushes. Thank You !

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So unsatisified Second year in a row I've raked and roughed up our flower bed, applied preen, then a layer of mulch, only to have more dandelions growing there than in my untreated front yard.

can i use preem around my strawberry plants.. that are in the ground ,all year long.

Asked by: JR sheley
Preen Garden Weed Preventer is not recommended for use around strawberries as the active ingredient may prevent the runners from spreading. The only Preen you may apply around strawberries safely is our Preen Vegetable Garden Weed Preventer Organic which lasts in the soil up to 6 weeks.

I have mulch down in my flower beds. Can I put this product on top of the mulch or do I have to remove the mulch?

Asked by: leelatiger
Thank you for your inquiry! If your mulch is not down, you can apply the Preen to the soil and then atop the mulch. If your mulch is already down, sprinkle atop the mulch and gently rake in.

I was wondering if I should apply this to my flower bed before I rototill it over or after? I plan on laying weed barrier fabric and then mulch.

Asked by: Skipee27
Apply Preen Garden Weed Preventer as directed after you rototill. This application will help to prevent its listed weed seeds from germinating up to 12 weeks. Thank-you!

In the veggie garden. After removing weeds, how close can this product be used with the vegetables. How many square feet will this container do?

Asked by: Madam gardener
Thank you for your inquiry! On the label of Preen Garden Weed Preventer, there is a section stated 'For Use on Vegetables'. Here it will specify whether the Preen is to be applied before or after seeding/transplanting. Preen should be applied around the drip line of the particular vegetable, making sure the granules do not come in direct contact with the plant itself. You can feel free to contact our customer service at anytime if you need further assistance. Thank you!
