However, all other product information refer to the use of the "wood chip tray", as the manufacturer recommends using wood chips, not wood chunks, as wood chips are smaller and easier to fit inside the wood chip tray.

Not worth the money spent

So far after multiple uses, this has got to be one of the worst smokers I’ve ever used. 100 Degrees outside in the sun smoker on high for over 30 minutes and barely reaching 200° internally. First time I used it smoker on a rack it took over 4 hours to get them to a proper smoked temperature. I would honestly not recommend this smoker to anyone who wants to use it regularly. Its construction seems good. The design is good. The heating element itself however cannot do the temperatures you need for a good constant smoke. Very disappointed in this product, maybe I got a dud. Worst case scenario I will get a better heating element and put in.

No, I do not recommend this product.
