The holes were they eat out of are to small even with the flaps down!!

No, I do not recommend this product.

This feeder design has been in use for years and is intended to work with a wide variety of small backyard birds. The feeding ports are sized specifically to help reduce seed loss and deter larger birds or squirrels, which can sometimes make access feel tighter depending on the type of seed being used.
That said, we understand that not every setup works perfectly in every yard. Seed type, freshness, and even slight variations in bird species can affect how easily they feed. If you’re using a larger seed blend, switching to a finer seed (like sunflower chips or a smaller mix) can often improve access.
