Featuring a broad, pyramid-like shape, dense branching, dark, leathery foliage and bright, red-orange berries, the common holly plant makes a lovely addition to any landscape. Q: Hi, I am in Lakeland, Florida (zone 9) and I am looking for a fast growing noise reduction tree/plant. We have a privacy fence, so we do not need privacy, mainly noise reduction.

For year-round noise reduction, plant a mix of evergreens such as arborvitaes, spruces, pines and hollies. Q: I had a holly bush that Did Not produce berries. Was told I needed a male and female plant and did buy 2 very small plants + planted them near my existing holly. It is now covered with red berries. Is this a different variety that will have berries?
