Q: Will they thrive in rocky soil?
28 days ago- A: Thanks for reaching out! It depends on how rocky the soil is. If it is so rocky that it can't retain moisture or sustain life, then this plant will fail without amending the area with soil first. Butterfly Bushes are absolutely a drought tolerant native once established though, and are a popular choice for areas that experience hot, dry summers. They are very resilient and one of my favorite plants for prairie/pollinator style gardens.25 days agoHelpful?
Q: Can this plant ship to Ravenna ohio store and will it be in a pot
a month ago- A: Yes, it can ship to that store, and they will be in pots.a month agoHelpful?
Q: Do they handle only afternoon sun and what soil works best in zone 5?
a month ago- A: They require full sun and afternoon sun is fine for this plant. The recommended soil in zone 5 requires well-drained, average to poor soil with a pH of 6.0–7.0. Drainage is critical in Zone 5, as wet soil causes winter root rot. Avoid rich, heavy soil and amend clay with gravel or sand to improve drainage. Plant high—with the root ball slightly above ground—to prevent crown rot.a month agoHelpful?
