Protect and enhance interior wood projects with Minwax Polycrylic Protective Finish. This water-based topcoat helps protect wood surfaces from scratches, scuffs, spills, dirt, and blemishes. The finish dries clear and stays clear without yellowing or ambering. It can be applied over Minwax oil-based and water-based stains. The formula is suitable for all wood species, including lighter woods such as maple, ash, and birch. Use it on furniture, cabinets, doors, trim, woodwork, and other compatible interior wood surfaces. The ultra-fast-drying formula allows another coat to be applied after 2 hours. Three coats are recommended to build the protective finish. The low-odor formula cleans up easily with soap and water. Minwax Polycrylic Protective Finish combines lasting wood protection with convenient application and cleanup.

I own two businesses (Custom woodworking and Homemade Decor) and Minwax Polycrylic (in its many forms) is always my go to top coat! I love that I have the versatility of choosing which sheen I want for each project. It really gives each item that custom finish.

Impossible cap

I bought the aerosol version of the polyacrylic. The cap is extremely difficult to get off. I could not do it, so I left it outside by my project for my husband to get home. He’s a big strong guy and he, too, struggled immensely to get off the cap. Unfortunately, in the short time I left it outside it froze a bit and it can’t be used. I’m going to let it warm up and see if it’s useable, The label does say “keep from freezing “, so that part is on me. Even if I can use it, I’ll never buy product with the same type of cap again. Awful.

No, I do not recommend this product.
