The Mighty Mule 100 ft. Driveway Gate Vehicle Sensor allows a vehicle to drive past the sensor's 12 ft. electromagnetic field that will open your gate automatically, allowing guests the ability to exit without the use of a remote (FM135, FM134, or MMT103). Compatible with all Mighty Mule automatic gate openers, this gate opening sensor can detect cars, trucks, ATVs, tractors, and motorcycles. It's backed by a 1 year limited warranty. Recommended to be installed between 3 and 100 ft. of the gate openers control box.

Yes, with the addition of a Mighty Mule part # FM140 (100 ft gate opening sensor) any vehicle passing the sensor will activate your gate. Once you leave your property the gate would close after a set time. That set time is dependent on how long your auto close cycle feature is adjusted to on your Mighty Mule Gate Opener. Your Mighty Mule Gate Opener auto close timer can be adjusted from 0ff or 3 to 120 seconds. Thank you,7 years agoHelpful?

Mighty Mule Exit Wand detector - 100’ option

This option was a replacement for the wireless sensor which works but has cons. The direct burial wired option works better with the opener control system as it does not try to reopen when entering your property. Also the wireless does require some trenching so might as well bury the 100’ cable. Lastly I recommend the 100’ at least as approaching at 5 mph you will still need to slow down slightly to allow the gate to open fully. The shorter version will require vehicles to stop completely.

This opener is very convenient, and works well.
The only challenge was in attaching to my battery, which is about 6 feet from the control box. I stripped the wire a short distance, and then put heat shrink over the vertical slice, to keep it weatherproof.
