is there a limit in years on refilling this tank?

All DOT portable bottles can be filled 10 years from date of manufacturing stamped on the collar of the cylinder. Then it must be re-certified and can be used an additional 5 years.

That is a 20lb propane tank. An empty 20 lb tank will hold about 4.7 gallons of propane.
