Q: What about use on concrete floor?

Q: can this paint be thinned with acetone i have a trailer i need to get painted today and my store was out of the reducer
4 years ago1 Answer
- A: This can be thinned with Majic Reducer, SKU 1177119. We do not recommend using acetone as we do not know how this will react chemically. Please contact the manufacture at (800) 848-1898 to better assist you with this inquiry. Reduction at 8:1 with Majic Reducer is recommended (8 parts Majic T&I Enamel to 1 part Majic Reducer). Majic Reducer is a proprietary blend of “exempt” solvents that add 0 VOC to the host product, allowing the finish system to remain VOC compliant.4 years agoHelpful?
Q: What type of sprayer would give best results? HVLP? What mixture of paint, hardener, and reducer can be used in a sprayer?
5 years ago1 Answer
- A: Majic Tractor, Truck & Implement Enamels are tough & durable, hard-drying alkyd coatings that offer exceptional adhesion and corrosion resistance – These high solids enamels spray beautifully via conventional or HVLP, though gravity fed HVLP guns may require a greater reduction than conventional siphon fed units. For conventional spray, reduce Majic T&I Enamels at an 8:1 ratio with Majic Reducer* - spray in thin, even coats at about 30 psi and allow to dry for 24 hours (minimum) before recoating. HVLP may require a greater reduction than 8:1 (but 8:1 is a good place to start) – add more if necessary for a smooth, even atomization, then spray as described above but with pressure at between 35-40 psi (assuming your HVLP gun is powered by an air-compressor and not a turbine). A 1.4 mm tip is suitable for either gun… *Majic Reducer is a proprietary blend of “exempt” solvents that allow the host product to remain VOC compliant – other solvents, such as Mineral Spirits or VM&P Naptha are wholly VOC, and will knock the host product out of compliancy, and therefor not recommended (VOC = Volatile Organic Compounds are those components found in many solvents that add to smog, pollution and air quality). Which sprayer would give the best results? …Many factors will decide that, and each gun has their own advantages, and equally opposite disadvantages. An HVLP is typically a much slower application, and doesn’t put near the paint on that a conventional gun will – in contrast, an HVLP gun will (typically) generate very little overspray. Spray technique, and experience, is equally important as the gun is in terms of the best results, or most professional looking finish…and there are arguments to support both as the better tool to use. Personally, I believe HVLP is the better gun for a less experienced spray-painter due to the lower volume of product applied (with less overspray) and the “soft” delivery of product – on the other hand, an experienced spray-painter can create a showroom finish, in less time, with a conventional gun.5 years agoHelpful?

Horrible quality
I am appauled at how many “great” reviews there are here, this is the worst paint I have ever worked with. It was chunky and gunky right out of the can, did not mix or spray well.
Do yourself a bug favor and get some actual single stage automotive paint at NAPA or a professional paint shop, this stuff is garbage.
And, yes, I followed instructions to the tee, even using the reducer and hardener.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Great heavy duty paint

This paint is thick and excellent at covering rust. I have used it on several metal items and it covers really well. Rust does not seem to bleed through. Wish it came in more colors!!
Yes, I recommend this product.
