I think maybe there's a 20% chance you will get a torch which actually works as intended. Just bought one from my local TractorSupply because my orginal tip was clogged with rust. This new one would constantly blow out itself on a really low propane flow setting. Even when you heated up the tip, it still would blow itself out. When I would open the valve all the way open, it would instantly blow itself out. Wanted a touch from TractorSupply that was mid-level, but all the stores around me were out of them, and this basic one was all I had to choose from.

Bought this to help me clean up some beehive frames. The first one would not light, the valve was messed up. So I took it back and replaced it. The 2nd one worked as normal for about 15 seconds then produces a flame equivalent to a cigarette lighter, nothing more. I’ll be taking it back as well but would rather not drive the 20 miles to tractor supply!

I had a ball joint rivet that would not come out of the the control arm. All the guys I talked to said propane would not get the control alr hot enough but I tried it anyway and it worked like a charm.
