Each Harvest Lane Honey package of Carniolan honey bees (Apis mellifera carnica) includes approximately 10,000-12,000 live bees and one mated queen in a protective cage. The package also contains a temporary feed to keep bees nourished during shipping. Colony Traits: Spring Build-Up: Rapid - Carniolans expand brood quickly in early spring. Swarming Tendency: Moderate to high if not properly managed due to fast buildup Honey. Production: Strong honey producers, especially in regions with early nectar. flows Temperament: Very gentle and calm, even more so than Italian bees. Mite Resistance: Normal; regular integrated pest management is recommended. Wintering: Excellent in colder climates - Carniolans overwinter with smaller clusters, conserving food stores. Why Choose Carniolan Bees? Carniolans are ideal for beekeepers in cooler climates who want bees that adapt well to fluctuating nectar flows. They're known for their gentle disposition, efficient use of resources, and strong foraging ability. These traits make them a top choice for both beginners and experienced beekeepers. Carniolans are chosen by beekeepers in areas with cold winters and short nectar flows. They build up quickly when resources are available and then conserve energy when flows decline. Their gentleness and resilience make them a favorite for backyard and professional apiaries alike. Please check tracking number to ensure someone is able to receive the package of bees in person.

Just amazing

I thought my husband was crazy wanting to become a beekeeper. But these guys don’t bother us. They have produced an over abundance of honey this year. My berry patch and garden are heaping with produce. Thank you bees.

Don't buy bees from TSC

But from bee farm near you. Just Google. Not because of anything due to TSC but using USPS. I will never buy chicks mail order from McMurray due to USPS mishandling of live animals or insects. Please find local for live animals. Had no issues with the chicks I get from TSC and buying your bee supplies from TSC is fine. USPS needs to change who they hire. They hire jerks.

Dead bee's

First, the package arrived with over half of the bee's dead. It is also packaged a little different from other bee's I have bought. Read the directions before you try to put them in your hives. Fortunately, despite the number of dead bee's and me hosing up the process, my colony seems to be doing OK

Unprofessional shipping methods in the industry.

Shipped with a very tiny amount of food. All bees were lethargic upon arrival. Why do you charge more than other places and then ship with a tiny amount of candy type feed? If they end up traveling through any cool areas along the way they need more energy to survive. Of the two I ordered the queen died from one so I had to requeen from another vendor costing me even more. Also, there is no candy for the bees to eat through to release the queen, so you add the burden of the buyer to remove the cork and add that without informing them beforehand they will need to do this, despite it being common practice among other vendors to place candy in the queen's cage (usually behind a little piece of cork) Both hives are still struggling despite all efforts but I'm hoping it will turn around as the weather gets hotter. This manner of shipping is absolutely the most unprofessional in the industry and might be accepted if the cost were less among your peers. Very unprofessional.
