Caution

I purchased this attachment a couple of years ago. It has worked great...until yesterday. While in use the plastic locking collar split all the way around and the piece nearest me flew off and struck me in the chest. Dangerous. I definitely would not have children near while in use.

Disappointed

I bought this 2 years ago. I have used it less than 10 times with mixed results. If I froze the meat slightly, it did perform better. Then the plastic housing opened at the seams. Not even while it was in use..while stored in the drawer.
I asked twice for information about the warranty...crickets. Finally I dug up the information myself and see the warranty is limited to one year.
At this point the quality of Kitchen-aid has gone down so much they aren't even the top pick on America's Test Kitchen.
